Our Story
NOLA @ Home Care is locally owned and operated by Kim and Brian Flaherty. In-Home Care is very personal to their family after both having navigated challenging family situations with aging loved ones. They were inspired to build a company that would bring the highest level of care into the lives of their clients and families.
Because of their personal experience with dementia, Kim and Brian are familiar with the emotional, mental, and physical challenges that come with this stage of life, so they can understand the realities of your situation.
Brian is a Certified Dementia Specialist, which helps him understand the difficulties that families face when dealing with aging loved ones navigating memory care challenges. For several years he has played an active leadership role with the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to Find a Cure. He has seen at his family’s home first-hand how difficult it can be to watch the changes take place with a loved one which is why NOLA @ Home Care will always be a strong supporter of this great cause.
In addition to Brian and Kim, we have an outstanding leadership team in our Metairie office. Our office staff has dozens of years of senior care experience in a wide range of areas including Assisted Living Services, Memory Care Unit Support, Hospice experience and conducting hands on care. We have a promote from within mentality which allows us to take the greatest members of our Care Professionals team and promote them to positions within our office. This practice not only allows us to recognize/reward the best, but it also gives our leadership team additional hands on perspective when assessing new clients and writing plans of care.
Our entire staff believes that the home is the best place to be as long as it is practical and safe for seniors to continue living on their own even with assistance. Sometimes, just a few hours a week or even a couple of hours a day can be all it takes for seniors to remain independent and happy in their homes. For others, they may require 24-hour assistance to allow them to live in familiar and well-loved surroundings.
